Overview
After a successful Arts & Photography Expo event last year, we are excited to announce that the RoboSoft Art Gallery is back for 2026! As before, the Art Gallery will be a fantastic opportunity for researchers, artists, designers, and innovators to showcase not only creative applications of soft devices, but also speculative and critical explorations that challenge and expand the ways we think about softness in robotics.
What We’re Looking For:
Just like last year, we will be accepting both physical pieces to form a gallery of curiosities that we will erect within Kanazawa station and photo submissions to adorn the walls. We will consider all submissions, but we would love to see:
- Soft robotic sculptures that mimic natural movement
- Interactive installations and haptic displays
- Wearable robotics
- Bio-inspired designs
- Anything else that pushes the boundaries of art and technology!
This is an open call to ALL creators, whether your paper has been accepted to RoboSoft or not! But if you’re already presenting at RoboSoft 2026, don’t forget to include your paper ID with your submission.
How to Participate:
To submit your finished work, please provide the following:
- Title and caption to be displayed alongside your piece
- Abstract describing your work and, if appropriate, how it explores or challenges ideas of softness in robotics (max 200 words)
- For three-dimensional artworks: a short video (up to 180 seconds) showcasing the piece in action
- For photographic artworks: a high-resolution copy of the photograph.
Submission Deadline: January 16, 2026 – 9 AM PST
